Military intelligence was established by Act No. 289/2005 Coll. on Military Intelligence. The scope of Military Intelligence is defined by Act No. 153/1994 Coll. on the intelligence services of the Czech Republic. An important document is also Act 412/2005 Coll. on the protection of classified information and security. The activity of Military Intelligence is subject to independent control of the Chamber of Deputies through the Military Intelligence Commission. At the same time, the Military Intelligence reports once a year on its activities to the Government of the Czech Republic.
